Built by Hand. Down to the Last Detail.
New builds, renovations, and finish work. One builder. One standard.
New Custom Homes.
Lakefront and Off-Water.
This is where Cloke spends most of the calendar. Four to five new custom homes per year, typically 2,500 square feet and up, built on your lot with architect-drawn plans matched to the terrain — not pulled from a template. Design-build led by Charles from the first walk of the property to the day you turn the key.
Sweet spot is the $1M to $5M range at the Lake, though we have built on both sides of that window. Cost-plus with itemized invoices throughout — you see the vendor bills and our markup at the bottom. No averaged percentages. No surprises at framing.
- Lakefront custom homes — shoreline considerations, boat dock coordination, Lake-facing elevations
- Off-water custom homes — Porto Cima, Horseshoe Bend, and the broader Lake community
- Architectural design & blueprinting — architect partners who draw for the site, not generic plans dropped on it
- Permitting, infrastructure, utility runs — everything from the foundation pour through walk-in-ready
- Cost-plus itemized budgeting — a number that holds from the estimate through the build
Built by someone who started with his hands.
Charles spent years cutting custom trim, laying tile, hand-fitting cabinetry, and building custom showers before he ran his first full build. That work never went away — it just got folded into every house. It is the reason Cloke homes look the way they do at the two-year mark, not just on move-in day.
A Cloke home is built around the details most builders sub out and stop thinking about. The staircase is designed for the entry it lands in. The fireplace surround is structural, not a kit. The cabinetry fits the room instead of forcing the room around the cabinetry. The closet system is laid out for how the client actually lives, not shipped in from a catalog.
Most of this work happens inside a new build. Some of it shows up in a remodel when the project is ambitious enough to warrant it. The standard does not change.
Custom Staircases
Designed to the home — from traditional oak runs to feature staircases that wrap an elevator shaft or anchor a two-story entry. Risers, treads, and railings cut to the house.
Custom Trim & Millwork
Hand-fitted casing, crown, wainscoting, and ceiling detail. The craft Charles came up in. You see it at the joints and the transitions.
Built-Ins & Cabinetry
Bookshelves, window seats, kitchen cabinetry, bar backs, mudroom storage — built to the room, not ordered from a brochure.
Custom Tile & Showers
Laid by hand. Grout lines that line up. Niche detail. Curbless entries where the build supports them. Tile work that holds up to a decade of daily use.
Fireplaces & Stonework
From a hand-hewn hardwood beam mantle to a floor-to-ceiling stone surround. Designed into the structure, not added after drywall.
Theaters, Studios, & Specialty Rooms
Home theaters, music studios, wine rooms, walk-in closet systems. The rooms that take a custom home from finished to memorable.

Cloke takes on renovations, additions, and outdoor living projects when the work calls for the same craftsmanship we put into a custom home. In practice that usually means full kitchen and master bath remodels, structural additions, large-scale outdoor living builds, and standalone custom woodworking projects. When the scope calls for a builder who treats a remodel the same way he treats a new home, that’s where we work best. Charles will give you a straight answer on the first call.
- Full kitchen and master bath remodels — new cabinetry, tile, stonework, plumbing and electrical reworks
- Additions and structural upgrades — room additions, second-story additions, garage builds
- Outdoor living — patios, decks, stonework, pool surrounds, Lake-facing entertaining space
- Custom woodworking projects — standalone built-ins, bars, libraries, feature staircases
Charles does excellent work. He just remodeled a master bathroom for us on time and within budget. A number of friends that have seen the completed project have all commented on how nice it looked and the quality of Charles workmanship. I would highly recommend Charles.
